Our Policies
At Harmony Hybrid, we believe that clear expectations and strong partnerships help create a thriving educational community. Our policies are rooted in biblical principles and are intended to support a culture of respect, responsibility, and Christ-centered growth.
As we partner with families to equip students for God's purpose, these guidelines help foster an environment where faith, learning, and character can flourish together.
Legal Issues: Harmony Hybrid, Inc. operates as a tutoring service for homeschool families. Therefore, homeschool families enrolled in our program will be responsible for their legal standing with the State of Michigan and local school boards (if applicable)
Technology: Unless required by instructors for use in classroom activities, electronic devices such as iPods, cell phones, tablets, earbuds, etc., are not allowed in the classroom. They must stay in the backpack if brought at all, and must not be heard by or have screens shared with others.
Discipline: With a desire to maintain Christian standards and to provide a positive atmosphere for learning for everyone, tutors are in charge of the learning environment. Students shall not challenge the tutors’ authority. All tutors, administrators, parents, and church staff present have the authority to call students to correct any behavior that is in conflict with Harmony Hybrid and facility policy guidelines.
In the event of disruptive behavior, Harmony Hybrid will apply the following policies:
Students engaging in serious and/or dangerous unacceptable behaviors will be removed immediately and suspended from HH classes.
Assault of any form
Fighting or threat of injury
Inappropriate sexual behavior or conversations
Intentional damage or theft of church or personal property
2. The tutor, or any other authorized on-site adult, will attempt to instruct the individual privately regarding the correction of less serious inappropriate behavior. Such unacceptable behavior includes the following:
Verbal or physical harassment of others
Profanity
Disobedience to the tutor
Dishonesty
Detracting from the classroom learning environment
Unwillingness to positively apply him/herself to learning
Public displays of affection and overt flirting
3. If a student continues to display unacceptable behavior, the tutor or other authorized adult will contact the parents. At this time, HH will issue a formal written warning. If the behavior continues, the student will be placed on probation for two weeks, or a parent will be required to attend class with their student.
4. Additional violations may result in the student being suspended from classes for the remainder of the year.
5.We are aware that children need time to adjust to the characteristics of classroom instruction. We will make every effort to help children who want to make that adjustment.
6. We hope to never need these discipline policies, but we must have them. The students will be made aware of all expectations (mostly the “School Rule”) at the beginning of the school year.
7. School Rule- All day, every day, and in every situation, use the Golden Rule which says, “Treat others the way you want to be treated.” Matthew 7:12
